Thanks Tiramisu - I'll try to pop in occasionally...

Eva - one of the reasons I like where we live: we're about equally afar from all airports here. It does have its advantages, even though we're stuck with fog in autumn

I hate the fog in autumn!!! Days and weeks on end and all you see is a depressingly low grey sky.

I actually like fog....it's mystique (do you spell it like that?) and magic somehow...
I hope to find a job around zurich/winterthur somewhere in summer....so i'll have to get used to the fog...but you know...fall and winter is the time where you can have lazy days at home, do some crafting with the kids, cook nice dinners and just take it easy...where as in spring and summer you can enjoy the sunshine and the warm weather.

Luckily there's no fog today. I'm not a great fan of it either. We're back in the country. Did you know that 9 degrees here feel a lot warmer than 18 in England?

@tiramisu and mrs. Bee: thanks, his temperature is back to normal. He's still got a sore throat, but is cheekier than ever.

@mrs. Bee: how was your flying experience? There was a woman on our flight travelling on her own with two boys under three. I found it challenging enough with one boy and hubby. Boy had his penguin trolley with him. So we needed to look after that, too

Kara - I made it and we both survived... How do you keep your young man quiet in the car??? Luckily we drove through the night and he was asleep most of the time, but about 50 km from Basel little man decided that he'd had enough and wanted out  So there I was monkeying around on the back seat with him and he throwing things on the floor etc. Grrrrr. But we arrived all alive
We have this elephant suitcase thingy where he can sit on, very convenient as I can drag him through the airport like that and he can sit down on it if we have to wait. Plus all his toys are in there if they're needed!

Just had chicken Kiev for dinner and apple pie for pudding. Yuuummmmm!!!

When did your kids starting to talk in English?
Little man is repeating like a parrot at the moment, we're in stitches. Things that are broken are "bröuken"... it sounds soooo funny!

@mrs bee
princess speaks better english than german at the mo, due to daddy being at home.
She's in her "why" phase at the mo...
"mami, moon is not here" - "Nei, de Mond gseht me nid" - "why mami?" - "Wils Wulche het" - why mami...
and so on... guess you get the picture.

it's hilarious to listen to her.

the other day we walked over a car park, when a car came along she ran to the side shouting "out way mami!!! out way daddy" when the car passed she waved and said "thank you"

They are very funny at that age. At the moment we're at "was isch das" stage. With cars it's "Attung, Auto!" - and he helds up the hand like a policewarden

I schlepped some stuff back from England, and tonight we had Macaroni Cheese. Very nice - I almost put a whole pack of grated cheddar cheese in it. Bang goes the diet (what diet???)

Cheese: we brought Cheshire and Wensleydale back

Talking: boy started early in both languages and translated from the beginning. He used to use his made up signs to confirm the meaning

Wow, not bad. From what I can tell English really starts to sink in now. It's very entertaining to observe.

Not much of a cheese lover, but Cheddar gets nicely gooey
