Hi Dusi
All packed and ready? Summer is arriving here, temps should reach up to 30° this weekend. That's C, not F
Monster Truck Race? How wonderful... yawn. At least your men were happy
We just had our Summer holiday (last chance before little man starts Kindergarten and we won't be able to jet off outside of the official holidays anymore ) and enjoyed it enormously. Now hoping for some lovely Summer weather here too!!
Hi everyone! Wednesday is the big day (travel day) and I'm super nervous... The little guy has a runny nose and a bit of a cough. I hope he'll be better by early next week.
My mom tells me that the weather has been great the last few weeks. Hope it stays that way It's really summer here and I can't wait to get out of the summer heat (and humidity, that's the killer). 30 degrees C is a piece of cake
No big travel plans, other than a week in Graubünden, but I quit my job So excited to start a brand new adventure. I found a new part time job as an English teacher at a primary school, and will be attending teachers College in Solothurn to get my BA of Primary Education for the next 4 years. Money will be tight for our family, but the reward in the end will be awesome.
Dusi, how was your holiday? The weather this past week has been awful! Cold and rainy. Where is summer?
Hello Ladies
It got real quiet here. Dusi, did you have a good trip to good old Switzerland? Sorry about the awful weather... we didn't enjoy it neither.
I'm off with 2 girls for a quick shopping trip to the UK. YAY!! No kids, ho husbands!! Excited like a little girl going on a school excursion
We started Kindergarten, and though little man is doing well we have discussions every morning anyway (I don't want to go, I want to go - when there is no Kindergarten... It's like living with a 4 year old teenager, hrmpf).
Take good care, and enjoy the looovely weather now
Hi ladies.
Wow it's been ages since I last wrote in this thread. I did read into it every now and then.
The reason I'm writing here today is quite simple.
Would you consider moving (back) to the UK with the kids in school here?
My hubby and me have a really tough time behind us, we got separated officially and slowly but surely things are coming back together. We both needed to figure things out and hubby now says (he's been off work due to his Back with IV and everything for 4 years now) he wants to go back to the UK as he is not able to work here in CH.
I never really wanted to move to CH back in 2008 even though I am Swiss.
Just can't get my head - it at the moment. My heart says go to England - South West. My "Mami-brain" says stay here til little one's done with school. My sensible brain says stay here and just go for holidays.
It's so hard. So I wondered if any of you considered moving back at all and what were your arguments pro and contra?
Sorry for the chaos, my thoughts are going crazy.

I certainly understand your thoughts. We have similar discussions, but in the opposite direction (should we move to Switzerland or not). I can't really help you, but just wanted to say that I can very much relate to the confusion you're feeling. I hope you figure it out. Have you set up a pro-con list yet?
Hi Dusi
Thanks for your reply.
I've set up loads of pro-con lists but that doesnt really help much...
For now I don't have a choice but to stay here....little one in kindergarten and I'm working lots...I guess I'll just have to take another holiday to the UK so I can make myself a picture of how life is over there. I haven't been for such a long time - I guess that sort of gives me an illusion of how it would be back there.
We'll see

Hello Swissalicious
Very tough decision - for me a no-go. But: I've never lived in the UK. I like to visit, but there are too many things that bother me (i.e. the schooling system...) and that I wouldn't want to live with. Of course, there are some good Points too, but what with the working care-system we have built up here it's a no brainer for us. But: never say never... who knows what the future will bring?
Good luck with your decision....
hello Ladies
i'm still around, the kids are keeping me busy
@ swissalicious: hope you'll find a solution that works for you. For us living in England was never an option. We like it for holidays once in a while, but we prefer to live in Switzerland.
@us: Boy started school in August and I think he's happy there. Little Girl will be two next month, time flies.
Hello Ladies
Still around, still around! Just rather busy and struggling to keep up with everything... who doesn't?
Dusi: still thinking about moving back to Switzerland?
Hope you're all enjoying the lovely Spring weather
